My first love will always and forever be my mom. Dressed up or down, with or without makeup, young or old, through sickness or good health she'll always look the same to me because she’s beautiful inside and out. The love I have for my mom transcends beyond words as no combination of words can describe and express the bond, respect, care, and love I have for her. Growing up without a father was tough but you taught me the meaning of grit, perseverance, hard work, commitment, integrity, honor, respect, honesty, compassion, and love. You’ve taken care of me after all these years and now it’s my turn to take care of you. I love you, mom. Happy Mother’s Day! 媽我愛你. 母親節快樂.

The lotus flower is one of the few plants that grows in the muddy water underneath the waterbed upwards towards sunlight which symbolizes the human soul rising, blooming, and transcending above the negativity and suffering in life to achieve purity, enlightenment, excellence, faithfulness, beauty, peace, tranquility, and prosperity. To all who is reading this – I wish you the best along with your family and loved ones to seek out and obtain happiness, love, peace, and health as that is the best gift of all. Note: And yes, I did make each one of these origami lotus flowers.

*Deep panting* Finally done. Only took me six hours. One down. One thousand left to go. Taking pre-orders for Valentine's Day February 2050.

Have you ever encountered individuals who are all talk but no walk, people who speak louder and, therefore, come off as more “confident” and pushes others down which creates the false impression that they’re automatically “right,” or folks who are more eloquent and well-versed in their speech and demeanor but lack delivery, execution, vision, leadership, and implementation at pivotal and key moments of life? The problem doesn’t just manifest itself from one side but instead two: 1) The people who need to always be right, “win,” and come out on top who play off the incompetence of others in order to create an illusion or a perception that they are better than others at the expense of other people’s own ignorance, misguided beliefs, and preconceived notions and 2) The people who welcome, put up with, and tolerate this type of behavior, knowingly or unknowingly, which encourages these types of people and their actions to flourish, grow, exist, and permeate which can affect all levels of society from education, politics, corporate environment, and interpersonal relationships.

An important skill I’ve learned in a business, social, or personal setting which applies to my everyday life is to segregate, classify, and identify the significant few from the trivial many.
Don’t simply be a sheep and simply follow the “herd” or “crowd” and partake in activities that everybody else is doing. Learn to think for yourself and ask questions. Learn to have a questioning mind and thirst for knowledge to obtain all relevant, useful, and pertinent facts before making a big decision. Learn to identify the people who aren’t genuine or trustworthy or who will stab you in the back and throw you under the bus without a blink of an eye in order to promote and advance their own self-vested interests or agendas versus the people who will be your champions, advocates, and confidants and stand by your side when you’re faced with conflict, tribulations, and hardships. Learn to read people and understand that sometimes people don’t say what they mean or mean what they say even if they’re looking at you straight in the face and eyes while giving you a smile.

“Have you ever looked up in the sky and wondered if the love of your life is also looking up at the sky together with you at the same time? You haven’t met each other yet and may be thousands of miles apart but at that exact moment both he or she is thinking about you while you are also thinking about them. If it’s meant to be love will find a way to find you if you let it.” - John Chang

Question I ask myself each time I walk a mile back to my car panting heavily and drenched in sweat: Am I the only one who parks far away to prevent door dings and obtain additional exercise?
