How insane does this sixteen quail egg omelette with Lincolnshire Poacher cheese look?! 🧀 We think @yorkshiregourmet is on to a luxury breakfast winner with this one!
A true East Midlands delicacy, Lincolnshire Poacher is an award-winning hard cheese sustainably produced by brothers Simon and Tim Jones at Ulceby Grange Farm, in Alford, Lincolnshire. They are the fourth generation to run the farm, which has been in their family since 1917 ‍ As well as the care and attention taken during the making of each batch, it’s the brothers’ use of fresh, unpasteurised milk from their own dairy herd which forms the basis of this distinctive and delicious handmade cheese 🧀 To ensure the milk is of the highest quality, the ‘girls’ are treated like absolute royalty When they’re not grazing on the rolling hills of the farm, they’ve got their very own happy cow brushes to give themselves a good scratch whenever they like! Now if that’s not quality British farming, we don’t know what is! 🤷‍️

British picnic essentials!
Based in the idyllic Vale of Belvoir in Leicestershire, East Midlands, Belvoir Fruit Farms (@belvoirfruitfarms) have been making fruit cordials and presses since 1984 🇬🇧 Belvoir are especially known for their delicious elderflower drinks, thanks to an old recipe developed by co-founder Mary Manners Originally, elderflowers were handpicked from the Elderberry bushes growing around Mary’s house, but today are professionally harvested from Belvoir’s 90 acres of orchards and hedgerows in the surrounding countryside
Coupled with their beautiful packaging (just look at it ), Belvoir’s drinks make the perfect teetotal tipple to share with friends in the summer. What’s your favourite soft drink to refresh with?

Spot the Stilton cheese! 🧀
Though this delicious blue-veined cheese takes its name from a village in Cambridgeshire, it’s really an East Midlands phenomenon! Why, you ask? Well, it was actually on East Midlands farms (in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire) that the cheese was first produced. Stilton in Cambridgeshire, on the other hand, was simply the place the cheese was first sold to the public 🇬🇧
Today, the East Midlands still offer exceptional geographical conditions (including a very rich soil most appropriate for dairy farming), which gives Stilton cheese its distinctive taste
Thanks to @millcitycheesemongers for capturing this heavenly cheeseboard

Californian Claire Ptak lives in London and is the proud owner of Violet Cakes (@violetcakeslondon) - a small bakery-café in Hackney, East London 🇬🇧 According to Kensington Palace, Claire was asked by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to create their lemon elderflower wedding cake, which will be smothered in buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers The cake marks a controversial change in direction from the long-standing tradition of fruit cakes typically served on a royal couple's big day. What do you think of Meghan and Harry’s cake choice? 🤔

Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem in the East Midlands’ city of Nottingham claims to be the oldest pub in England 🇬🇧
Dating back to 1189 AD, the pub is built into sandstone caves right by Nottingham castle and still opens its doors to enthusiastic punters. Serving up British pub classics like beef and ale pie, fish and chips, as well as more contemporary fodder such as burgers and steaks... we recommend you swing by on a Sunday when you can treat yourself to a traditional Sunday roast

A firm East Midlands breakfast favourite - Lincolnshire sausages! 🇬🇧️
Widely available at most UK supermarkets and butchers, Lincolnshire sausages are a distinctive variety of pork sausage, seasoned with sage, originating from the county of Lincolnshire! The earliest recorded reference to a recipe for Lincolnshire Sausages was made in May 1886. However, the award-winning John Petit Butchers of Grimsby claims to have a family recipe that dates back to 1810 Today, the Lincolnshire Sausage enjoys a celebrated status in the county and has its very own festival dedicated to it!
What’s your favourite component of an English breakfast?

As all good foodies know, anything with ‘ye olde’ in the title is bound to taste good, right?! 🥧🇬🇧️
Well it’s certainly true as far as this place is concerned; they’ve been rustling up tasty pork pies since 1851! And not just any pork pies, either – bona fide Melton Mowbray pork pies
It’s all to do with the uncured pork that’s packed into that crumbly pastry – and the guys at Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe aka: Dickinson & Morris (@dickinson_morris) are the only ones left in town who are still doing it the genuinely ‘proper’ way
They don’t just sell pies, though. If you’re feeling peckish, why not bag yourself some sausages, chutneys and cheeses while you’re here – or go all out and order a hamper?! Don’t mind if we do!

The Bell Inn is a historic pub just off the Old Market Square in Nottingham, East Midlands 🇬🇧
Despite its impressive black-and-white facade, the Bell Inn doesn’t actually have a proper front door, but instead a little brick passageway that takes you right inside, past stained-glass windows bearing the date the first pint was pulled - around 1437!
Here, you can enjoy an innovative pub menu in one of their atmospheric, wood-panelled rooms, whose walls come alive with old photographs of the city’s past and with the hand-painted names of past landlords

This gem of a restaurant is located on top of a steep hill in the heart of the historic Cathedral City of Lincoln - so it’s the perfect place to treat yourself once you have climbed up and explored the nearby attractions!
One of city’s favourite dining establishments, Browns (@brownspieshop) is owned by duo Allan and Christine Gill who bought it in November 2005 and, with the help of their family, have enhanced its already excellent reputation
From duck breasts and steaks, to delicious pies including delicacies such as their vegetarian ‘Great British Cheese Pie’, they serve some of the best dishes in traditional English cuisine Oh, and this place is also said to be haunted by what is probably one of Lincoln’s most famous ghosts...enter if you dare!

Behold, the world-famous Melton Mowbray pork pie! 🇬🇧🥧
Named after Melton Mowbray, a town in Leicestershire in the East Midlands, the pies became popularised in the 19th century when huntsmen were in need of snacks that would stay fresh and not crumble when carried during the day Traditionally, they are baked in a clay pot and consist of chopped uncured pork and bone-stock jelly sealed together in hot water crust pastry. Yep, sounds strange, but trust us, these British bestsellers are downright delicious!
Have you ever tried a Melton Mowbray pie?

Once upon a time, a girl named Mary Ann Brailsford planted some apple pips in her garden in Southwell, Nottinghamshire in 1809 In 1846, the apple tree she had planted was included in the purchase of the nearby cottage by a local butcher called Matthew Bramley 10 years later, a local seller asked Matthew Bramley if he could start selling the apples from his tree. Bramley agreed, but under condition: that all the apples bear his name!
Today, we have young Mary to thank, for the Bramley apples that originate from her seedlings are some of the most popular, reliable and versatile cooking apples in all of Britain! From pies and compotes, to crumbles and chutneys... Bramleys truly are the apples of the East Midlands’ eye! 🇬🇧
